Summary
This Research Tech Senior position will involve participant recruitment, survey development and distribution, creating and presenting posters, training undergraduate research assistants, and data entry among other research tasks under the supervision of the PI, as well as collaborating with other study investigators, and community-based recruitment sites to completed work funded by NIH and MDHHS. We are seeking a very motivated, detail-oriented, professional to manage research studies focused on substance use prevention and treatment. The position involves working closely with other research staff and Project Investigators to ensure completion.
Responsibilities*
Subject recruitment and data collection
Identifying potential participants using MiChart
Distribute study assessments/surveys using Qualtrics/REDcap
Complete focus testing interviews and review qualitative data
Contacting and engaging participants for study reminders
Complete participant tracking paperwork accurately and efficiently
Assist with management, coding, and analysis of data
Prepare reports for grant funders (i.e., MDHHS)
Creating and presenting research posters
Completing relevant research compliance trainings as necessary
Organizing data for data sharing
Completing literature reviews/searches
Assist with research project design and quality improvement
Training undergraduate staff members on research tasks
Assist with quality assurance of data and tracking documents
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or a related field is required.
- 1-2 years experience in research settings with remote behavioral interventions for substance use.
- Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team using MiChart, Qualtrics, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint.
- Must be comfortable working and interacting with diverse and vulnerable populations; and studying sensitive topics (e.g., substance use, suicide, and related mental health concerns) with study participants.
The position requires flexibility and availability to work a varying schedule, including morning, afternoons, late evening, and weekend shifts.
Desired Qualifications*
The desirable candidate will have knowledge of the research process, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures. The desirable candidate is also someone who is empathic, personable, has excellent organizational skills, communicates effectively, prioritizes competing tasks to meet deadlines; and is able to work independently for extended periods of time while also being a team player and maintaining effective communication with the study coordinator and principal investigators.

Background Screening
