Overview:
Creates and maintains software solutions, configures and enhances custom off-the-shelf solutions, offers technical support, and collaborates with stakeholders. Analyzes current computer systems & procedures and recommends changes to programs, systems, and planning, to help IT groups operate more efficiently and effectively to meet organizational, compliance, and governance requirements. Brings business and IT together by defining needs, capabilities, and limitations.
Responsibilities:
  • Requirements gathering, design, implementation, quality assessment, testing, release, and delivery of new and existing software solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage expectations and deliverables.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, facilitate functional testing, to ensure the delivery of quality solutions with a high degree of performance, availability, and optimization.
  • Continuously refactor solutions to improve efficiency, performance, and customer experience.
  • Assess solutions against compliance requirements.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies; determine how they might be useful to the organization; educate the team.
  • Manage development teams; demonstrate leadership qualities; delegate responsibility for areas of the codebase or solution to capable and appropriate team members.
  • Encourage healthy debate between team members and facilitate the decision-making process.
  • Divert distractions to allow the rest of the team to work more effectively.
  • Collaborate with technical writers and product teams to develop technical and/or end-user documentation.
  • Consult with business managers to determine how best to meet the organization's requirements.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience building web and mobile apps.
  • 2+ years of experience managing software developers.
  • Proficient in frontend technologies such as React, React Native, TypeScript, iOS, Android Proficient in middle-layer/backend technologies such as .NET Core, Node.js, and REST Proficient in programming languages such as C#, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient in databases such as SQL Server, MongoDb, and Redis. Proficient in the use of Jira, Bitbucket, and Git.
  • Proficient in writing unit tests using frameworks such as Jest and NUnit.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Demonstrated use of Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services is a plus.
  • Familiarity with typical IT infrastructure elements such as VMs, Clusters, Containers, etc. ; DevOps engineering; and Cloud Computing preferred.
