This position reports to the Quality Manager. The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing, improving, enforcing the quality system at PCC Carson City and assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the evaluation of possible courses of conduct and acting or making decisions after the various possibilities have been considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Quality Engineering support to manage and facility internal, external, and regulatory audits.
  • Implement quality improvement projects and participate in quality activities
  • Provide support for released products, evaluate customer returns, and support the Source Inspection department and in-process inspections where required
  • Participate product qualifications and validations to support key development and continuous engineering projects
  • Provide quality engineering support to manufacturing lines, including floor support, non-conforming product investigations, change order control requests reviews, and RCCA administration for in-house, supplier, and customer requirements
  • Perform return product investigations for customer complaints to include 8D activities
    Participate in design and product risk assessments
  • Work with manufacturing and R&D engineers to prepare manufacturing work instructions, specification review, and inspection documentation for new products
  • Set inspection requirements, set inspection methods and inspection sampling plans
  • Support quality control inspectors with new product inspections and quality issues that arise during inspections
  • Perform contract review function
  • Perform specification review
  • Approve part router in accordance with PCC procedures and customer specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • B.S degree in Engineering
  • (Preferred but not required) experience of AS9100 and NADCAP requirements
