Quality Assurance Coordinator - Queens, NY Job at Tiffany & Co.
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for leading the efficient movement of repair orders through the QA area to other departments/locations. This includes prioritizing work, handling special/rush requests from other departments, and ensuring high accuracy and on-time performance for a team of QA Inspectors. The position is also responsible for providing direction and training to staff members along with resolving day-to-day operational and repair issues. Reporting on key department metrics and performance management are other expectations of this position. This position will also participate in communication of issues and solutions to ensure high quality results and optimum service levels with both internal and external partners.
- Perform inspections on serviced new and customer owned merchandise (COM) using the established COM Repair Standards.
- Record the pertinent details of each inspection using detailed knowledge and expertise of the business.
- Provide detailed inspection results to technicians to result in servicing that meets standards.
- Prepare quality reports for distribution to internal and external partners, providing feedback on trends and potential solutions.
- Proactively organize daily workflow and ensure timely movement of repair orders and estimates to avoid delays.
- Review inventory reports to identify issues and/or bottlenecks.
- Proactively resolve customer service related issues, questions, and concerns.
- Manage and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Act as a liaison between the Service Center and all internal customers.
- Coach and train team members to meet production standards, follow policies and procedures, as well as identify and solve customer issues.
- Be proactive and inform management of repair service issues and customer escalations.
- Provide support to the team by taking on different responsibilities in the department as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- 2 years business experience with strong operational background
- Previous Quality Assurance experience
- Previous microscope experience and ability to working using microscope for extended periods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Flexible work schedule and ability to work overtime when as needed, including possible weekends
- Customer Service orientation
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong English language verbal and written communication skills
- Strong initiative and the ability to work without constant direction
- Demonstrated ability to identify and provide resolution for areas of improvement
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- High ability to collaborate, build strong business relations and influence without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of Graduate Gemology degree or completion of courses
- Tiffany & Co. product knowledge
- Analytical experience
- Previous microscope experience
- Knowledge in AS400, MIPS, POS or Compass
The hiring range for this position ranges from $26 - $35.19/hr. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
