POSITION SUMMARY:
Promotes employment programs by building relationships with Community Agencies and Education institutions to identify potential clients. Coordinates with Human Resources Recruiters to identify, screen, interview, and hire candidates into employment programs and during placement into regular positions at GISD. Collaborates with other departments to ensure successful placement of program participants. Assists in recruitment for other positions and departments as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Statement(s):
1. Prescreens, interviews, and recommends programs applicants for hire. Screens and interviews participants referred to mission programs.
2. Outreaches and builds relationships with Community agencies through phone calls, visits, and presentations. Attends career fairs and events as needed.
3. Researches and recommends new sources for promoting Mission Programs in the community.
4. Ensures promotional materials are current and available for distribution.
6. Works closely with Employment Services and with Learning and Development to plan outreach events, coordinate interviews and provide timely support with screening job seekers.
7. Coordinates with the HR Recruiters to identify and interview job seekers eligible for the program.
8. Refers job seekers to Community Employment Centers if not eligible for programs and to Human Resource Recruiters if job seeker meets requirements for a direct hire.
9. Coordinates with Human Resources and departments to ensure participant completes contingencies, receives schedule for onboarding and first day on the job.
10. Communicates with Learning and Development team, Customized Programs team, and Human Resource recruiters through the process for hiring trainees to regular positions once trainee completes the program.
11. Keeps abreast of laws, regulations, and best practices of screening, interviewing, and selecting job candidates. Recommends changes to processes as needed.
12. Understands and role models GISD’s values and culture.
13. Understands the requirements to successfully perform essential functions of open position and able to effectively communicate them to applicants.
14. Performs recruitment duties for other positions and departments as assigned.
15. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: GED or High School education required, AA degree, Certification in related field, BA or BS degree preferred
Experience: Require advanced job knowledge, education, and minimum 5 years experience in related field upon hire or 5 years of GISD experience in level 4 or 5 position, or combination of past experience and GISD experience equals 5 years
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, MS Office, MS Project, email, internet
Certificates and Licenses: Must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill’s insurance company
