Program Instructor Job at Marquette University
Summer Reading Instructors will be responsible for planning and implementing literacy instruction during the Hartman Center’s Dwyane Wade “Live to Dream” Summer Reading Program. The program consists of 60 hour of reading instruction and 40 hours of professional development.
Instructors must be available from June 15, 2023 through July 21, 2023. (Program is not in session July 3-7.) Reading instruction takes place Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 1:00pm. These dates and hours of availability may be adjusted dependent on program requirements and student availability.
Summer Reading Instructors will be required to participate in weekly professional development after reading instruction has ended. Instructors will need to be available Monday through Friday until 4:00pm.

1. Plan and implement elementary reading and integrated literacy/science instruction.
2. Assess children’s learning pre-instruction and post-instruction.
3. Effectively manage elementary children in a small group context.
4. Participate in all professional development activities designed to increase teaching expertise.
5. Attend all program-related activities to include off-campus field trips that occur outside of instructional time.
6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

This will be open to MU elementary teacher preparation undergraduates who have completed EDUC 4964
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Current teaching license.
Experience teaching in the elementary school.
Experience teaching small group reading intervention.
