Job Description
Sign on Bonus: $500 sign on bonus to be paid $250 in your first paycheck and $250 in the first paycheck after 90 days of employment at 20 hours or more per week.

Scope of Position
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of High-Yield programming focused on areas of Academic Success, Healthy
Lifestyles, Good Character & Leadership. The Program Director also serves as a secondary site manager, with primary concern for programs, volunteer engagement and staff development.
Education and Work Experience:
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s (preferred) or actively working towards a degree in a related field. Note: additional years of relevant experience may satisfy education requirement.
- A minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Solid working knowledge of youth development principles and guidance techniques, including experience working directly with youth.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Spanish and English.
- Ability to train and motivate staff. Demonstrated organizational, staff development, and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate programs that engage youth.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, Excel, PowerPoint, MMS, email, Internet use and research, and the aptitude to learn new technology.
- Effective communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to engage groups and individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels.
- Able to work successfully in a stressful and demanding environment.
- Mandatory current CPR and First Aid Certification (can be acquired through work training).
- Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus, with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee implementation of Club programs and activities that support Youth
Development Outcomes and the organization’s objectives.
- Ensure consistent participation of youth in weekly small group clubs and programs.
- Establish program objectives consistent with organization’s strategy and goals, resulting in higher member tenure, greater frequency of attendance, improved academic engagement, and growth in average daily attendance (ADA) for youth.
- Establish and maintain Clubhouse program goals and settings that ensure the physical and emotional safety of members and staff.
- Conduct Club program evaluation on a continual basis and ensures activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.
- Support Branch Director with monthly financial expenditures.
- Allocate and monitor work assigned to program staff and volunteers; providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and regular appraisal.
- Oversee proper record keeping and reporting.
- Help develop, grow and maintain contact and good relations with external community partners, schools, member’s parents/guardians and others to assist in supporting youth outcomes and resolving issues.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assume full responsibility of the site in the absence of the Branch Director.
- May oversee special programs and group clubs (e.g. Torch Club, Member of the Month), and participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary.
- Exercise authority in issues relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be well groomed and adhere to the required dress code.
- Ability to speak, hear, and maintain high mental and visual attention at all time.
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to regularly work and/or drive in outdoor weather conditions.
Additional requirements:
- Must have a demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for the Boys & Girls Club’s work; values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as required.
- Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel between locations and attend meetings outside of regular operating hours.
- Must successfully pass BGCA driving test requirements.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening test.
- Candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal background check.

Miscellaneous:
- Ensure consistent participation of youth in weekly small group clubs (e.g. SMART Moves, Power Hour).

- Ability to travel between locations and attend meeting outside of regular operating hours.
- Variable schedule based on Club need: School year – typically 12:30pm start, Mon-Fri;
- Winter/Spring/Summer Camp – up to 8-hour shift, between 8am – 6pm daily.
