About the Team:
Strategic Sourcing works with the business to meet their supplier and purchasing needs through the full lifecycle of the relationship with the goal of maximizing commercial value, selecting suppliers aligned with Mizuho standards, ensuring service and product quality, and optimizing expense management. The function is part of the Corporate Strategy and Administration division and contains both Sourcing and Purchasing teams supporting the Americas region. Mizuho Americas has achieved sustained growth and procurement needs to evolve and transform alongside the business. Investments into the function will be critical to helping procurement scale as well as developing a productive supplier ecosystem.
Role Overview:
The Procurement Reporting & Analytics - AVP role is vital to developing an efficient procurement platform and making a demonstrable impact across the region. The role holder will report to the Head of Strategic Sourcing and will be responsible for developing the reporting and data management approach for the Strategic Sourcing function. They will collaborate within the department, with business partners, and with technology to deliver incremental change as the department evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead construction of departmental reporting to enable transparency to stakeholders, operational effectiveness of Strategic Sourcing and informed decision making
- Drive creation of foundational procurement data and in some cases manage key procurement data
- Develop renewal pipeline management strategy and implement process/technology to support
- Facilitate requirements and testing for new discipline in contract lifecycle management at Mizuho
- Own and evolve Strategic Sourcing materials taxonomy, work Sourcing and Purchasing teams to establish process for classification supplier spend in the region
- Support buildout of spend analytics platform, working with Sourcing, Purchasing, Accounts Payable and technology to implement and update automation
- Explore cross-functional data aggregation across Procurement, Legal, TPRM and AP data and assess reporting feasibility across datasets
- Lead and collaborate across the team to develop our Intranet presence and key training materials
Qualifications:
- Strong business, analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and decision making skills with attention to detail
- Experience in data analysis, especially with Excel functions and data analysis (macros or VBA skills a plus)
- Proficient in utilizing and providing requirements for Reporting tools such as Power BI
- Stakeholder management skills including experience at supporting change across multiple functions
- Strong communication skills: both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff
- Experience developing presentations in PowerPoint to communicate and influence stakeholders
- Must be able to work as a team member & independently
- Demonstrates tolerance and understanding in a multi-cultural environment
- Familiar with reviewing contracts and knowledge of common commercial contracting terms a plus
- Ideally experience with procurement data management and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)
The expected base salary ranges from $77,500 - $130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
