Summary:

The Process Engineering Technician is responsible for manufacturing operations in the extrusion process areas. This includes making sure the area is meeting its goals for throughput, quality, and safety.

This position is a 2nd Shift position, must be able to work the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Essential Duties:

• Continually optimize extrusion parameters to produce at high quality levels in the most economical manner
• Troubleshoot and define machine, tooling and material issues.
• Hands on mechanical position; need ability to assemble hardware with bolts and shims
• Able to create and post run orders in Excel
• Able to summarize issues and communicate to next shift
• Ensure preventative maintenance for the process is performed
• Train production associates in the area on best practices
• Assist Process Engineers with introduction of new products and processes

Additional Duties:

• May need to cross train in other areas such as mixing, oven, and finishing
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or related area equivalent experience
• 2-4 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
• One or more years of data collection, recording, interpretation, and report generation
• Basic Excel experience
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
• Ability to collaborate and work well with others

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

• Data analysis experience with an emphasis on statistical software, design of experiments, and database familiarity is a plus.
• Minitab
• Experience training team members

Working Conditions:

• Typical manufacturing environment with some noise and dust

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds occasionally
