JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Program Chairs lead the delivery of one or more academic programs at a campus (or online), including oversight of full-time and adjunct faculty. Program Chairs typically oversee a collection of disciplines (i.e. Allied Health, Business, Trades, etc.) with the appropriate lead faculty for subject matter area support. Program Chairs report to the Academic Dean.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Where qualified, teach in the programs they supervise on a regular basis. The frequency of teaching assignments will vary based on the number of students in the programs and the number of programs and faculty supervised.
- Ensure faculty files are complete at all times and contain the documentation stipulated by the state licensing authority and the applicable accrediting body.
- Supervise all faculty and education staff; conduct annual performance evaluations, complete classroom observations, motivate, mentor, and coach all members of the education department in completion of their job duties.
- Ensure faculty scheduled to teach are appropriately qualified, meeting the state requirements of the state licensing authority and the applicable accrediting/programmatic agency.
- Monitor student retention metrics based on accreditation guidelines on a monthly basis to ensure the appropriate benchmarks are achieved monthly and/or annually.
- Ensure all assigned programs meet or exceed company and accrediting body retention metrics
- Plan, coordinate and/or participate in all faculty in-services and all-faculty meetings.
- Provide academic advising for students in their program(s).
- Provide mentorship to all faculty in the assigned programs through classroom observations, weekly/monthly departmental meetings and student feedback.
- Work one late night per week to be available for evening students.
- Make recommendations to the Corporate Manager of Instructional Design and
Curriculum Development on updating syllabi and materials as needed.
- Recruit and train new faculty members as needed, including participation in new faculty orientation, and lead the evaluation of the performance of existing faculty members in the program using results from student evaluations, student performance outcomes, and classroom visitation.
- Assist in the coordination and running of at least two advisory council meetings per year for each assigned programs.
- Supervise externships and externship instructors (where applicable).
- Serve as the committee chair of the admissions committee and assist with determining the committee member make-up (where applicable)
- Serve as the leader of any programmatic accreditation requirements (i.e. self-student completion, liaison between the school and accreditor, etc.)
- Review transfer credit requests and recommend credit approvals as appropriate.
- Serve as curriculum committee chair or member as necessary.
- Administer proficiency examinations as required.
- Work closely with career services personnel to assist in the placement of students after graduation.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Master's Degree
- LPN teaching experience
- Meet all requirements to be a faculty member in their discipline.
- For ACOM Accredited Schools: Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from an
ACAOM accredited college or university, licensed (or ability to become licensed) in the State of FL as an Acupuncture Physician. NCCAOM board certified herbalist.
DAOM, MD, ND, DO, or DC terminal degree required.
- 3 years of demonstrated success in a management position (preferred).
- Knowledge of teaching methodology
- Superior computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
COMPENSATION:
- Full time salaried position
- Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
