Pre-Employment Testing Requirement

The position you are applying for has been internally designated by ExxonMobil/XTO as safety sensitive / safety critical- Accordingly, if you receive a conditional offer of employment for such a position, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment process, which includes, among other things, a background check
- Depending on the presence of drug or alcohol related convictions on your record (if any), you may not be eligible for hire into this position
- In addition, if you pass the pre-employment process and are hired, you will be expected to undergo random drug and alcohol screening in addition to the other requirements associated with the position
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Required
Individuals must be willing to learn the operating procedures of several different systems at the Teague/Farrar Gas Plants. These systems include condensate stabilization, amine, Paques sulfur recovery, ethylene glycol, refrigeration, utility/instrument air, and monitor truck loading of NGL’s and receiving chemicals. Perform daily lab test on amine, glycol and Paques systems.- Individuals should have physical abilities for outdoor work. This includes climbing ladders from 12’ to 20’ daily, verifying levels and adjusting where necessary. Also, you should be able to climb 2 flights of stairs to monitor levels.
- Individuals should be able to work 12 hour shift work, alternating nights and days on a 7 and 7 rotating shift. The individual will frequently be the only person in the plant and should have the ability to respond to an outside emergency if the plant has an emergency.
- Individuals are required to make a round through the plant twice a shift for a total of 2 per shift. Including gauging tanks and starting and stopping pumps as needed. The walking surfaces consist of concrete, rock, grass and metal. Individuals will be exposed to uneven walking surfaces while making rounds and walking up steps to access each platform on skids and crossing metal walkways on skids.
- Individuals will be subject to a range of temperature and weather changes. In extreme weather, you may be subject to spend more time in the plant dealing with the effect weather can cause. Examples: starting or stopping pumps, compressors, equipment failure (overheating) summer conditions, freezing of equipment in winter, etc
- During a normal shift, individuals will spend about 30 minutes per round, operational issues or plant turnarounds the time outside could be 10-12 hours
- Individuals are required to lift and pour 40 lb. bags of salt into salt hopper when needed
- Individuals are required to operate fork-lift to unload deliveries after normal operating hours and on weekends
Pre-Employment Testing Guidance
This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment. You may take the assessment at that time or utilize the instructions below to access the assessment at a time convenient for you. Note that the assessment must be completed by the deadline in order for you to be considered for the O&M position for which you have applied.
IMPORTANT
The O&M test has been revised. Effective December 1, 2021 ALL candidates must complete the revised assessment. Even if you have tested within the last 365 days (passed or failed), if you tested before December 1, 2021, you must complete the revised assessment to be considered for this O&M opportunity. Failure to complete the assessment by the deadline will result in your disqualification from consideration for this position. The assessment is the same for all O&M requisitions. If you have completed the assessment after December 1, 2021, your assessment results will be mapped to this requisition when you try to access the test. Test passed candidates will be screened by the hiring team and a subset invited for interview. Note that a satisfactory result on the assessment does not guarantee an interview.
