Plant Operator Job at Chevron
Chevron is accepting online applications for the Plant Operator position through May 31 at 12:00a.m. (PST).
The terminal operator scope of work includes maintaining safe and reliable operations of the Sacramento Terminal. The Sacramento Terminal is provided product through the Bay Area Pipeline where product is then loaded onto trucks and delivered to retail stations. The terminal must be well maintained, be up to date with all required inspections and remain in compliance.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Product receipt, storage handling, transfer, and distribution functions safely.
- Terminal stock accounting functions including daily rack and inventory balances.
- Complete daily facility inspection and scheduled maintenance and verifications of terminal equipment.
- Product quality control sampling and testing to ensure product integrity.
- Instructs, train, assists and certifies all jobber/commercial carrier drivers in safe loading.
- Monitors performance and testing of various terminal automation and alarm system.
- Perform activities in the tank yard and Tank Truck Loading Rack (TTLR) areas. For Example: Gauging Tanks, switching tanks serving TTLR, performing daily inspections and performing intra terminal product movements.
- Maintain terminal records as directed. For example: Stock Control, Waste/regulatory and Additive inventory
- Perform Inventory Reconciliation
- Performs administrative duties as necessary including daily weekly, monthly reports.
- Perform routine clerical activities such as filing, maintenance of office equipment
- Complete all Company and Regulatory training including computer base training
- Strong commitment to safety and active participation in HOP (Human and Operational Performance)
- Must perform various terminal monitoring and tasks using PC skills.
- Issues general and hot work permits in compliance with Chevron Safe Work Practices and ensures contractor safety
- Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, participating in Loss Prevention System and being prepared to respond to any type of incident.

- Maintains flexibility and willingness to work weekends, shift work, and overtime. Works cooperatively with others as a team player
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
- 6 months terminal operator experience
- Valid driver´s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or higher degree (or equivalent).
- 5+ years prior experience working in terminal operations.
- Knowledge of industry-recognized condition monitoring programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices.
Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
