Environmental Allies is looking for a skilled Pipe Foreman to join our growing civil team in Houston, TX. The Pipe Foreman will be managing pipe construction projects related to Stormwater activities. This individual will work with civil Project Managers to meet schedules and budget time required to meet deadlines. They will also confer with Project Managers, Engineers, Operations and Contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.

They should also be able to drive and operate heavy equipment such as Excavators, Bulldozers, Skid Steers, Front End Loaders, John Deere, and Case 500 serious tractors with scrapper pans used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities. This individual is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks as it relates to stormwater maintenance and drainage systems such as: stormwater channels, detention ponds, and storm drainage systems and light street repairs as it relates to moving dirt around.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the laying and have heavy knowledge of CMP, RCB, and RCP up to 84"

• Perform earthworks installation for storm management systems, water supplies, sewers and other underground utilities

• Assist with site preps and installation of other erosion control structures such as Stormwater retention

• Remove old or broken pipe systems

• Laying pipe into trenches

• Oversees the day to day operations and reads blueprints

• Have a working understanding of underground utilities

• Create construction project schedule, deliverables and timelines.

• Confer with Project Managers, Engineers, Operations and Contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.

• Interpret and explain plans to workers and clients.

• Plan, organize, and direct daily on-site activities concern with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.

• Takes action to deal with the result of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.

Qualifications / Competencies

· 3-5 years of pipe foreman and stormwater experience

· Experience operating heavy equipment

· Must have working experience with earthworks and underground utilities

· Experience in reading blueprints

· High School Diploma (or GED or Equivalent)

· Valid Driver’s License

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

· Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.

· Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

· The ability to work in hot environments/extreme weather.

· Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.

· The visual acuity required including color, depth perception and field of those who whose work includes the operation of trucks, forklifts, cranes and high lift equipment.

· Perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction, to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discrimination in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on equipment or machines.

· Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving object horizontally from position to position.
