With locations in Campbell and San Jose, Opus 11 provides all students, regardless of age or ability, with a quality, inclusive, developmentally-appropriate music education.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded piano teacher to join our team. You will take over the students of one of our teachers who is leaving. Many of these students have disabilities and would love to continue experiencing the joy of music-making! We will provide all of the support and training necessary for a smooth and successful transition.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing piano lessons in relation to individual student’s needs
• Teaching lessons in-person and online
• Interacting with families/caregivers in a professional and amiable manner to provide informal progress updates and monitor practice at home
• Communicating with director periodically to discuss progress, challenges, ideas, and material requirements
• Track student progress by keeping notes in our internal system

Qualifications and Desired Qualities:

• Open mind, growth mindset, willingness to learn and be challenged
• Proactive - takes initiative in problem-solving with students and knows when to ask for help
• Positive and collaborative attitude
• Ability to maintain calm demeanor in stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Tentative commitment of at least one year is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in music is preferred, but not required if otherwise qualified
• Instrumental proficiency
• Teaching experience is a plus but not required
