POSITION TITLE: Part-Time Park Technician

STATUS: Part Time (Average of 29 hours per week)

SALARY RANGE: $15.45/per hour

DEADLINE: Open Until Filled

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent

* Valid Ohio Driver’s License

* 2 years of park maintenance, garden and landscaping experience

* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind work assignments, and make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform essential functions of the job.

• Performs varied semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance, repair,and construction of parks, gardens, and recreational trails. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to inspecting and maintaining MVPD assets to ensure that District facilities provide the highest level of safety for public use.
• Cleans district headquarters and various MVPD buildings
• Mows, weeds, trims, prunes, fertilizes, and applies mulch to parks, gardens, and recreational trails
• Maintains ponds, wetlands, and water features at various MVPD facilities
• Applies herbicides and pesticides under the direction and supervision of a licensed applicator
• Picks up trash, rakes leaves and clears debris and snow from walkways, parking lots, parks, gardens and recreational trails.
• Removes graffiti, repairs signs and vandalized property, reports vandalism
• Operates vehicles and a variety of equipment used in park maintenance landscape work
• Inspects tools and equipment for safety and mechanical defects and ensures they are in proper operating condition.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs picnic tables, fences, benches, trash cans, and nature play equipment and features ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition, reports maintenance needs and safety hazards to the Executive Director.
• Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment, as required.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
