Paraprofessional Social Worker Job at Strengthening Families and Children, LLC.
Strengthening Families and Children, LLC. is looking for a mentally strong, patient and flexible paraprofessional social worker to provide behavior aid, mentoring, supervision and/or transportation services to children in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). The mission of this agency is to provide creative, quality and dependable services to children and families in need within specified State standards and timeframes.
Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise creative activities and mentoring services for children of all ages (generally 3 to 18 years old), races and sexual orientation who are in the State's custody due to being a victim of neglect and/or abuse.
- Transport children to and from various appointments (i.e. Doctors, Dentist, Court hearings, Parental/family visitations) as well as during behavior aid supervision/mentoring services.
- Assess and observe behaviors and complete thorough documentation on all services provided to clients utilizing Microsoft WORD and Google Drive programs.
- Attend case conferences, phone conferences, virtual meetings and provide testimony in court as needed
- Act as a key-worker and cooperate with multidisciplinary teams involved with a client's case.
- Refer clients to community services to help them as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in any Human Services Field (Need Original Transcript)/ OR must have 5 years of experience working directly with children and families.
Current and active Driver's License and a working vehicle
Auto Policy Coverage
Must be willing to drive to and from all the metro counties in the Atlanta area including DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton, Rockdale, Gwinnett, Cobb, Henry and others as needed.
Must be flexible with schedule and making changes to your schedule due to the population we serve.
Must pass the Georgia Department of Human Services Criminal Background Clearance.
Must complete State online trainings (Will be given upon hiring).
Must have knowledge and access to Microsoft WORD/Excell and Google Drive programs for documentation purposes.
Must have thorough and understandable writing skills for documentation notes regarding the services you provided to clients.
