OPERATOR-PIPELINE Job at TRENDSETTER CONSTRUCTIO
Summary
Under direct supervision, receives training and experience operating and making minor adjustments to roller/mixer. This is an apprentice position for an Equipment Operator.
Responsibilities
- Learns to evaluate assigned work and possible hazards related to pipeline and other facilities.
- Learns to make operating adjustments, minor repairs, and maintenance to equipment in the field.
- Learns to read and interpret blueprints.
- Reports equipment malfunctions and requests maintenance service as necessary.
- Performs similar physical work typical of a Civil Maintenance Worker or similar staff within the Department.
- Perform basic operation of machines and tools
- Performs other duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge: General construction procedures.
Skills: Excellent mechanical skills. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Abilities: Follow instructions. Recognize needed mechanical repairs. Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels as well as with the public.

Primarily: Outdoors
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery. Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
Environmental Conditions
Heavy lifting up to 100 pounds. Possess the physical strength and agility to work outdoors under adverse climatic conditions. Works in an environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and/or weed abatement chemicals. May stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Academic & Trades Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational school training preferred. On-t he-job training offered.
