The Illinois Department of Labor is seeking an Office Coordinator. The office coordinator is responsible for the preparation, referral and tracking of case files transferred to the Attorney General’s Office. The ideal candidate has knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience, or two years of independent business experience. Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation, referral and tracking of case files transferred to the Attorney General’s Office.
  • Maintains and updates records in complex database for reporting and tracking of settlement agreements and payment plans for FLSD.

  • Provides secretarial and complex office support functions to Section managers and Division managers of the Fair Labor Standards Division.

  • Reviews and screens claim under the various laws enforced by the Fair Labor Standards Division.

  • Performs a variety of specialized support functions for the Fair Labor Standards Division.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience, or two years of independent business experience.
  • Must be able to keyboard 35 words per minute.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Requires working knowledge of the logic of computer programs.
  • Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Require skill in keyboarding accurately
