The Department of Internal Medicine, at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine, is seeking applicants for two (2) Nurse Practitioner (NP) vacancies in the Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS Care. The Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS Care (COE) at ETSU has expanded services to their HIV and HIV-at- risk population and needs to provide comprehensive mental health and primary care to its clients in a new office.

NP Position 1:

This NP would provide mental health as well as primary care to the HIV-infected clients within our COE. This NP will be responsible to the COE Director for:

• Providing clinical health care to individuals followed in the ETSU Infectious Diseases clinic
• Precepting inter-professional students
• Working with a team to implement advanced HIV -related clinical care services

• Planning and implementing mental health and primary care services in the Centers of Excellence clinic
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

NP Position 2:

This NP would provide primary care to the HIV-infected clients within our COE. This NP will be responsible to the COE Director for:

• Providing clinical health care to individuals followed in the ETSU Infectious Diseases clinic
• Precepting inter-professional students
• Working with a team to implement advanced HIV -related clinical care services

• Planning and implementing mental health and primary care services in the Centers of Excellence clinic
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Master’s degree in nursing with preparation in advanced practice nursing (FNP, ANP, PNP, or other specialists as required for specific position).
• National certification in the appropriate area.
• Current Certificate of fitness to prescribe.
• Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Tennessee or compact state.
• Three years of experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge and skill in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common acute and chronic health conditions.
• Knowledge of recognized standards of care.
• Knowledge of common medical problems and case management principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and set priorities.
• Knowledge and skill in the treatment of HIV infection and its comorbidities, including standards of care for the prevention of HIV-related illnesses.
• Knowledge of recognized standards of care.
• Knowledge of common problems in HIV-infected adults and case management principles.
