NEW ROLE: Digital Communications & Community Engagement Coord. Job at Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse NY
Position Summary:
The Digital Communications & Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) role is responsible for the ongoing management and growth of Thrifty Shopper and 3fifteen’s digital/social media presence in alignment with business strategies and direction with a focus on driving engagement. The CEC is also responsible for coordinating community donation efforts and represents Thrifty Shopper and the Rescue Mission at off-site events. A CEC must be action oriented, able to execute on short-term objectives while keeping focused on long-term strategic goals. As a Rescue Mission team member, the CEC engages, inspires, and instills a sense of energy and excitement that fosters pride in our purpose.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and communications plans to increase internal and external engagement.
- Develop, edit, and schedule content across owned and earned social and web channels, including, but not limited to: posts, photos, videos, events, tweets, pins, news, podcast episodes, and employment postings.
- Create, manage and grow business presence across web channels, including, but not limited to Google My Business, Yelp, Classy, LightSpeed and TapMango.
- Maintain the functionality of the ishopthrifty.org Wordpress website, evaluate and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management and develop website content and maintain page relevance. Utilize Google Analytics to gain insights on web visitors.
- Create, manage and grow business presence across social media channels, including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other new and emerging social platforms.
- Respond to donor, customer and community questions, comments, feedback or requests in a professional, timely, manner. Communication may be received via web contact form, email, phone, Facebook Messenger, Twitter and Instagram Direct Messages.
- Direct paid and boosted ad placements across social media and web channels. Leverage digital analytics and measurement tools to provide progress reports and mine insights while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
- Cultivate corporate and community relationships to procure donations and support. Create, partner, and attend events to increase awareness. Provide exceptional customer service and transport goods when needed.
- Supervise social enterprise interns and social enterprise administrative volunteers. Assign projects, provide coaching, feedback and support as needed.
- Maintain customer and employee database, weekly email campaign and customer rewards program. Track, analyze and report results using Microsoft Office.
- Process on-line gift card orders and oversee online resale businesses on Poshmark, Mercari, and eBay. Research and implement new online Thrifty Shopper webstore.
- Provide technical guidance to other team members as needed.
- Regular and predictable in-person attendance is an essential requirement of the job, including outside of normal business hours for events, as needed.
- Promote a safety-first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree with focus on communication, advertising, marketing or related field (OR) 3+ years’ equivalent experience in digital communications.
- Experience writing, editing, crafting and analyzing content for web, social and print.
- 5+ years customer service experience
- Valid NYS Driver’s License in compliance with company driving criteria is required.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Solutions orientated with strong decision-making and problem resolution skills.
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
