Job Summary

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support in all phases of exercise planning and the development and implementation of an effective, reliable, exercise program that will be systematically and periodically updated. Ability to plan exercises and meet all requirements following the tenants in TC 7-101, Exercise Design.

The III Corps and JBSA Mission Training Complexes (MTCs) provide high-quality simulation-driven training tools for training unit commanders to conduct individual, leader, and collective mission command training.

Specific Responsibilities

• Prepare, execute and manage pre-exercise setup of all facilities; prepare, execute and manage post-exercise recovery and reset of all facilities back to their original configurations; assist in the overall management of details (preparing for, supporting and recovering during exercises)
• Develop an orderly sequence of processes, products, activities, and decision points to assist units in achieving the training goals and objectives in the training event.
• Tracking the length of time to accomplish Exercise Design for a given training event is dependent on the magnitude and complexity of the event itself.
• Assist training units with developing a standard framework with which to plan and execute a training event to achieve the unit commanders training objectives.
• Attend all Exercise Design events throughout its duration.
• Provide input to planning products; exercise design to include exercise architecture, room builds, and other related planning documents. Input shall be provided IAW the Exercise Planner’s established suspense date.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience with Military or DoD and two years’ experience with exercise planning using the Exercise Design tenants in TC 7-101;
• Demonstrable experience in operational planning and simulations using the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Low Overhead Drivers, or OneSAF and stimulating MCIS; Subject matter expert in LVC-IA concepts, the BTE, ITE and/or the STE

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• SME Level – BS or BA degree, subject immaterial
• Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook skills.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Normal Office environment

Travel

• Up to 15-35% both CONUS and OCONUS, as required to support mission requirements.
