Millwright I Job at Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc.
The
Maintenance Millwright I is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repair activities to keep equipment in working order while maintaining environmental and safety compliance at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant activities.
- Assist Maintenance Millwright II and/or Maintenance Lead with repair and installation of equipment.
- Perform quality welding jobs as required; such as piping and support structures.
- Maintain welding equipment and other tools in working order.
- Utilize the work order system to ensure work completed is tracked and recorded.
- Keep the shop area clean and compliant with all safety programs.
- Attend all training sessions and safety meetings.
- Other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance is encouraged.
- Ability to take direction and learn in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to learn the treating plant operation.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Can be hot, cold, humid, and/or rainy. May require climbing of heights up to 100 feet.
