Mercury Marine - Materials Scheduler Job at Brunswick Corporation
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage duties involved in establishing Tool Build and Repair schedules, planning and analysis of material requirements to optimize availability of components required to complete jobs, including managing and procuring of on hand inventory both procured and produced by Mercury Marine’s internal Tool and Die Shop.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will analyze, coordinate, and schedule the resources required for the maintenance and build of High Pressure Die Cat Dies. This role will apply advanced materials management concepts to ensure continual flow of material to meet changing customer demands. Further, this person will support the business through supply chain activities, Inventory analysis and established/new processes.
- Creation of daily and weekly schedules accounting for asset capacity, resource assignments, inventory availability, and demand priority.
- Coordinate and monitor planning and scheduling including tracking and expediting work in process for Tool and Die Shop operations.
- Act as a point of contact for flow improvements.
- Participate in process alignment activities (HPPD, Project Timelines, Team Center, New Parts Database, etc.)
- Analyze inventory levels and modify planning as required to insure service and production schedules.
- Communicate and maintain continual feedback to internal and external customers regarding job workflow.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities.
- Overseeing of Shipping and Receiving and internal material cribs.
- Requisition and receiving of required components.
- Initiate corrective actions as required to meet our customers’ expectations.
- Defined Internal Operational Metrics (e.g. Schedule Attainment, Jobs Past Due).
Education Requirements
- Minimum 2 year degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent years of experience.
Baseline Skill Expectations
- 3-5 years materials management and/or supply chain experience
- Strong Cross Functional/Team Leadership and Communication Skills.
- Good Organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Technical and logical capability to solve problems
- Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership & project management skill.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight required
Preferred Skills
- CPIM/CPM Certification
- Experience in High mix/ Low volume manufacturing and/ or Tool and Die shop environment
- Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma methodology, Green Belt certification
- Advance PC skills in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Data-warehouse and Visio
- Proficient in Oracle EAM and AP
