About the position...
The Merchant Services Consultant is responsible of proactively developing new customer accounts while supporting and growing an existing customer base.Core duties include all sales activities, from lead generation through close. Develop and implement established plan, according to company goals to expand customer base. Work within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.
Merchant Services Consultant Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit sales plans, progress reports and weekly sales reports.
- Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Consistently enter and update data in sales database, pipeline, and other required reporting systems.
- Provide accurate price quotes according to company policy.
- Formulate independent straightforward proposals.
- Work closely with senior management, product management and the legal team with contract negotiations.
- Solicit and Generate Leads. Qualify Leads. Follow up and close sales on leads.
- Promote and sell product assigned by Sales Management.
- Arrange and Deliver Product Demos for Qualified Leads (Web or in Person as required).
- Negotiate products and services prices, costs, delivery and specifications with customers.
- Perform cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business in accordance with company guidelines.
- Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and business partners in person and via telephone calls and emails.
- Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
- Promote new developed products to existing and new customers.
- Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
- Work with Product Owner in the creation of ongoing activities that promote the company and its products.
- Represent the Company and its products at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
- Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Payment Processing and all other associated products/solutions.
- Support the Quality Department, participating in Audits.
- Attend to meetings, training and conventions as required.
Merchant Services Consultant Requirements:
- Minimum Associate Degree in Business Administration or related areas (Required).
- Minimum 3 years of Customer services and sales experience ( Required).
- Must be available to travel (Preferable around: Salinas, Guayama, Aibonito, Cayey and Aguas Buena). (Required)
- Analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills in English and Spanish (Required).
- Excellent Customer service and mediation skills. Excellent negotiation, presentation and persuasion skills.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
