Strategic Therapy Associates is looking for creative and compassionate Mental Health Professionals eager to learn and grow as part of an upbeat, positive team that truly enjoys empowering children and families. Our Mental Health Counselors & Therapists work with at-risk populations helping to resolve issues that are putting clients in an at-risk status, eliminating the cause for out-of-home placement or institutionalization, while moving them toward positive change and self-sufficiency. We help clients resolve their own mental health & relational problems as we work to restore appropriate hierarchy within families. We use the Strategic Family Therapy treatment model in our work with families, and clinical supervision for the resident in counseling is geared from that perspective. The ideal candidate will be family-oriented, humble, positive, good humored, flexible and hopeful.

• *Clinical supervision toward professional licensure (LCSW, LPC and/or LMFT) *Certain conditions apply. Licensure supervision is offered to masters-level staff at Strategic working in the intensive in-home program and is based on supervisor availability and after a period of employment (as determined by the director) in which the potential "resident" has been observed in clinical skill and in interactions in regular clinical supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide home & community-based counseling, outpatient therapy, crisis services, and/or family therapy sessions for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
• Empower clients to resolve the issues that can lead to out-of-home and/or out-of-community placements, or that may result in institutionalization if not effectively remedied via lesser restrictive measures.
• Establish rapport quickly and employ creative, appropriate therapeutic techniques to best meet the needs of the individual client.
• Be hopeful, optimistic, flexible, open-minded, and willing to adjust practice for the betterment of their clients.

Required Education and Qualification:

• Applicants must be able to successfully register as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Resident in Counseling (LMHP-R), or a Supervisee in Social Work (LMHP-S) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions. • Requires a valid Driver's License, auto insurance, own vehicle, satisfactory driving record & willingness to transport clients within the community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
