JOB TITLE: Mechanical and CM/DM Engineer I

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, 9 x 80 (every other Friday off)

OVERVIEW:

C Speed is seeking to hire a Mechanical & Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) Engineer to support our radar sustainment operations for the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) in Titusville, FL. We develop high-quality, custom engineered hardware and software for commercial and government applications. Our engineering team is a diverse group specializing in application & embedded software, high performance analog & digital systems, signal processing, advanced product integration, and rugged system packaging.

Mechanical & Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) will participate in the installation, test, repair and support of a wide range of electronic equipment and systems. The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of Integrated Product Support engineers and will be responsible for performing engineering tasks related to radar sustainment and system upgrades such as designing, developing, and delivering custom mechanical radar solutions. This role will alsosupport engineering and program needs by coordinating the modification of records for management control and manage data. The candidate’s designated work location will be the Titusville Depot East facility, and will include travel on an as-required basis to TARS sites.

POSITION SUMMARY:

· Work in a product development environment on new designs as well as supporting sustainment engineering updates to existing products.

· Generate new engineering documentation such as drawings, parts lists, specifications, etc.

· Perform various analyses on new designs such as FEA, structural, etc.

· Utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions to radar mechanical systems.

· Perform solid modeling using SolidWorks or AutoCAD design tool sets.

· Develop and maintain product designs and specifications associated with hardware, working with in-house manufacturing, procurement, and outside suppliers to determine applicable requirements.

· Research and select mechanical components for product system development and sustainment.

· Review requirements from various sources (dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the products.

· Perform as CM/DM lead for the Titusville division to include ERB preparation and coordination.

· Track and coordinate engineering change orders (ECOs/ ECPs) and prepare change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor personnel. Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinate changes with Engineering, Quality, Support, Manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

· Establish and maintain program technical data repository, configuration management, and vital records.

· Assists in the development of upgrade-related training and troubleshooting documentation to site operation team members.

· Collaborate seamlessly with teammates and counterparts across TARS (horizontal integration) in support of business and program objectives.

· Work under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

· Travel may also be required.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· Mechanical engineering, design, and integration knowledge.

· Fundamental understanding of other engineering disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, electronics, systems engineering, etc.

· Candidate can read/interpret technical drawings.

· Experience with Microsoft Office, to include PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

· Must be able to obtain & maintain a Secret level clearance.

Preferred

· AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience

· Knowledge of composite structure design and fabrication.

· Presentation and communication abilities

· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation.

· Experience with test methods, planning and execution.

· Hands-on hardware experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of applicable work experience.
