Job Title: Mechanic I
Division: Marine Services
Reports to: Team Lead and/or Project Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:Performs routine mechanical work on U.S. Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, surface ships and/or submarines. Tasks will be related to inspections, repairs, modernization and/or alterations.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Proficient in the use of precision measurement equipment including scales, vernier calipers if supporting repairs on pumps, valves and moters
- Performs disconnects and connections of mechanical joints.
- Removes and installs various equipment using sound engineering practices.
- Performs duties as Firewatch
- Assists with cleaning up work area.
- Employee may be required to travel for work to other locations
