Construction Material Handler

JOB SUMMARY:
Hog Slat, Inc. is the largest construction contractor and manufacturer of hog production equipment in the United States. We are seeking a Material Handler to join an industry-leading team to manage jobsite organization on Projects in Northwest Texas (North of Amarillo near Sunray), Ideal candidates would live in this area and be within driving distance to projects; however, projects outside of this area may require overnight and extended travel as needed as business conditions change.

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible to be on the job site(s) for the project(s) you are assigned to schedule material deliveries, receive and unload trucks, inventory all material received and check against purchase orders for accuracy, and stage material in a safe location for sub-contractors. Additionally, you will be required to maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization. You will work not only with our sales staff to coordinate the project delivery schedules but also with our distribution team and suppliers to insure delivery schedules for construction materials are shipped on schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Ensures orderly receipt and inventory of products by scheduling deliveries to meet project schedules
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks and trailers.
• Maintains inventory by counting material received and checking against purchase orders for accuracy.
• Communicate with Sales and Construction Management if there is missing/damaged/backordered material to prevent schedule impact
• Safely Stage material onsite for each sub-contractor by order of installation
• Insure Material that is staged to prevent weather events from ruining the product
• Manage credit-return material and supplies noting the materials and supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities on return form and schedule return shipment to destination for credit
• Communicate credit shipments with supplier to insure credit is received and credit is issued
• Be willing to help source, pick-up, and deliver material to the jobsite as needed to meet schedule
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and post-use inspections and contact Manager for repairs
• Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery safe and clean..
• Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations
• Aid in Jobsite Cleanliness as needed

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/educational background:

• Organizational, Record Keeping, and Data Entry skills
• Ability to read and analyze Information
• Adept at handling multiple complex tasks and job sites simultaneously
• Excellent time management and proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
• Process improvement mindset
• Knowledge of inventory control
• Ability to lift heavy materials
• Positive Attitude and Self-Starter to work productively with minimal supervision

• Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record for liability and insurance purposes
