Material Control Analyst/Supervisor Job at REVERE PLASTICS SYSTEMS
Description:
We are looking for a talented Materials Team Leader who will be responsible have responsibility for controlling the quality and flow of materials for our manufacturing facility, managing inventory to ensure optimal cash flow, coordinate scheduling and related systems, and implementing world class manufacturing methodologies to ensure on-time delivery; as well as managing a staff of 30 team members. Depending on experience and proficiency, this role may assist with production and other plants with Materials Management needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement and maintain material handling processes and equipment throughout the facility, and drive improvement programs to reduce inventories, improve inventory accuracy, drive efficiencies, maximize use of existing facilities and improve on-time delivery. Which includes the following -
- Coordinate and manage the development of production schedules for all manufacturing processes within the facility and generally planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating, mentoring and providing leadership for a 24/5 manufacturing and assembly operation.
- Control inventory for the facility, including managing inventory accuracy, conducting cycle counting, and conducting quarterly and annual inventories; assures adequate inventories are available to support production needs and meet customer orders.
- Supervise a team of staff in the materials, shipping and receiving departments, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching/disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- We call this role a “player/coach” role, which involves two things, as it requires you to divide your time into two different roles with a unique set of responsibilities (this style is similar to a basketball player who plays on the team and coaches them at the same time). This role is responsible for similar targets as their subordinates.
- Bachelor’s degree from 4-year College or university, plus 3-5 years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- APICS certification, preferred
- 3-5 years of experience with ERP systems, and preferably with IQMS software.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- This position is located in a mixed office and manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time.
