Manufacturing Trainer Job at Solvis Employment Services, Inc.
Position Summary: The Manufacturing Trainer will be responsible for instructing new hires on how to make all product lines of emblems with the use of the sewing machine and bonding equipment. Will be available to cover when there are unscheduled absences, train new team members & assist the rest of the manufacturing departments when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for directly overseeing training for new hires and when there is no new member of the team, they will assist in retraining employees not meeting their production standard.
2. Ensure new hires are progressing with their production and all questions are answered.
3. Will instruct on how to make sure machine(s) are kept in good working condition.
4. Must know all color charts, fabric colors and die size codes.
5. Train employees to work on all orders by ship method and due date.
6. Responsible for checking quality of emblem; merrow and design, for cutting and pulling the thread that is left with the clippers (scissors) and packing the emblems in plastic bags of 25 pieces.
7. Assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
8. Regularly employs continuous improvement techniques and practices in all activities.
9. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations and adheres to all Penn Emblem policies and safety procedures.
10. Perform other work-related projects as assigned by the leads, Shift Supervisor and Plant
Manager.
Primary Outcomes:
1. Will train all new hired team members to successfully learn their new position.
2. Ensure new hires are progressing with their production and all questions are answered.
3. Assist the lead in completing monthly evaluations for new hire and for employees received re-training.
Position Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Good command of the English/Spanish language, written and verbal. 1-2 years of machine operator experience preferred.
Company Related 1 year working for a manufacturing company.
Knowledge:
Technical Training: Machine operator course completion or equivalent training helpful.
Certifications Needed: Machine Operator Certification from a trade school/college preferred.
Functional Knowledge: Solid understanding of machine operation and maintenance.
Ability to build positive relationships, proactively develop team relationships.

Pay: $16.50 per hour
