Job Summary

The Testing Center Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, conducting, monitoring, and evaluating the services provided through the day to day operations of two testing centers located in Kilgore and Longview. This position serves as Texas Success Initiative (TSI) coordinator by providing oversight, support, and historical context..

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, implement and manage the college’s testing program, including the areas of staffing, training, evaluating, budgeting, scheduling, and daily functioning of the testing center
  • Foster an office culture of efficiency and innovation with a commitment to student success
  • Streamline testing services by removing barriers to access and align best practices for both campuses
  • Serve as point person for TSI regulations and polices
  • Coordinate, schedule, supervise, and proctor exams administered, including Saturday test administrations and off-site testing
  • Ability and flexibility to work hours other than the standard work day as testing needs require
  • Monitor college testing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure test security and compliance with appropriate rules and regulations
  • Prepare, implement, and manage the testing center budgets
  • Provide leadership for employees with exemplary work habits, fiscal responsibility, and personal professional development
  • Serve as a productive and participatory member of the EMSS division
  • Serve on College committees as needed
  • Attend necessary conferences and seminars to remain current in the field
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Baccalaureate degree in education or related field.
  • At least three years’ experience in a student service or similar position.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work and lead in a typical office environment, and possess appropriate computer and supervisory skills for professional and clerical staff.
  • Must be well organized, accurate, expedient, tactful, and discrete with regard to confidential records

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • 2 Full-Time Direct Reports and 1 Part-Time (Kilgore Campus)
  • 1 Full-Time Direct Report and 4 Part-Time (Longview Campus)

  • Compensation for this 12-month position is $46,599 - $53,589 depending on experience.

Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws. Positions will remain open until filled. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
