Manager Terminal Operations - New York Job at MSC Cruises
The Manager, Terminal Operations is responsible for terminal turnaround operations during all embarkation and disembarkation activities relating to passengers, crew, visitors, special events and luggage operations. This position is based at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal where MSC will commence sailings in April 2023.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages all passenger service aspects of turn-around operations.
- Oversees and supervises the compliance of testing procedures and other health & safety guidelines as determined by company’s protocols.
- Works in collaboration with Immigration authorities to ensure proper enforcement of customs and legal rules and regulations
- Drives the planning of staffing levels and terminal branding strategies as needed.
- Ensures that service and branding standards are met by all terminal providers and staff.
- Supervises and/or prepares passenger lists, early boarding and visitors lists, manifests and other documentation as required related to the turn-around operations of the vessel.
- Communicates to the ship’s command last minute additions of special services and dining requests, as well as following up and providing a prompt resolution to guests’ inquiries made on board
- Manages ship inspections and coordinate between the offices and the ships.
- Maintains a high level of performance to ensure excellent customer service to our guests.
Job-Requirements: skills, competencies, experience
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels (verbal and written) with authorities, customers, providers and within the company in English. Knowledge of additional language is considered an advantage.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or 3 or more years of experience
- Previous event and/or terminal management experience.
- Experienced using computer software, with moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must have a flexible schedule, including working on weekends and holidays, as well as being available for international travel.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, troubleshoot and problem solve in a deadline driven environment.
- Strong presence with great organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to communicate easily and comfortably with other markets and ship’s high commanding officers.
- Candidate must have passion for excellent client satisfaction and able to work well with others

Pay: $42,982.27 - $135,156.65 per year
