In this role, you will be responsible for performing semi-routine maintenance tasks for the Plant Operations facility and for Administrative Offices facility.

Some on-call support may be needed. POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the organization, scheduling; providing direction and assisting Maintenance Staff engaged in repair, maintenance, preventative maintenance and installation of machines and equipment; maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of plant, warehouse and office; establishes sound policies, procedures, practices and training to maintain efficiency in maintenance operations by performing the following duties personally or through other Maintenance Personnel or Outside Contractors. All job responsibilities are to be performed in strict adherence with the Company’s Mission/Values Statement and in accordance with established standards for external customers as well as internal customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.

OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED. • Determines work priorities and schedules, performs repair, preventative maintenance and maintenance of all equipment to ensure continuous production operations. • Participates in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. • Primarily responsible to Supervise, create, plan, and organize the daily activities of the Maintenance Department and will be called on to assist in Supervising the Production Departments.

  • Directs and oversees employees, machinery or equipment, work methods, raw materials and work environment in the Maintenance Department. Investigates and takes prompt action when problems related to safety, product quality, equipment failure or material waste and scrap disrupt efficiency. Keeps the Plant Superintendent informed of such incidents and makes recommendations to prevent similar problems from happening in the future. • Ensures all personnel adhere to company safety standards, policies and procedures.
Ensures all staff correctly uses and wears safety equipment as required. Also ensures that all safety inspections are completed as required and ensures adherence to company policies. • Conducts periodic performance evaluations for direct reports and recommends adjustments in compensation in accordance with Company policy in a timely and efficient manner. • Participate in hiring, training and development of staff members as necessary to ensure optimum levels of staffing at all times.

  • Establish and maintain a "Team Atmosphere". Conduct staff meetings as required. • Initiates performance management, corrective action and/or suggests plans to motivate direct reports to achieve plant operations goals. • Ensures that maintenance issues are efficiently and effectively addressed while working with maintenance personnel or other GNC personnel.
  • Champions continuous improvement initiatives & lean principals within the Maintenance Department and organization. • Monitors and performs equipment inspections of maintenance activities in the facility for safety and workmanship. • Establishes preventative and predictive maintenance procedures, determines the frequency of work tasks, and follows up with any recommended changes. • Communicates with Production to prioritize work and ensure all equipment is available and functioning properly.
  • Works with contractors, suppliers, and vendors in project planning and execution, maintaining a safe work place, and verifying work quality. • Assists in newly purchased equipment spare parts lists, machine guarding, maintenance schedules, and establishing preventative maintenance tasks. • Confirms all parts and labor for one-time work is identified and available. • Analyzes daily production reports and downtime detail reports, identifies trends and develops action plans to improve performance.
  • Performs personnel management tasks such as new worker orientation, discipline, pay increase recommendations, transfers, evaluations and explanation and enforcement of Company rules. • Monitors and trains employees' technical competence. • Performs a variety of miscellaneous job-related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time by a Management Representative. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Certificate in maintenance related technical field and seven - ten years of related work experience and/or the equivalent combination of both. • Three to five years related experience as a Supervisor or in a Leadership position. • Excellent safety record. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required particularly in oral format. • Legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms. • Ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate.
  • Ability to Supervise and motivate skilled workers with a wide variety of experience in plant operations. • Excellent troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge of production equipment both mechanical and electrical, and computer controlled operations. • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively. • Work effectively under pressure and time deadlines.
  • Analyze problems (not just symptoms), propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up with feedback where appropriate.
