Maintenance Coordinator Job at Symrise Pet Food
1.0 PURPOSE OF JOB
The position is to effectively plan and schedule all work performed by the maintenance department using Maintenance Software MicroMain and will be 75% of the job. This also includes organizing and keeping inventory of parts to prevent downtime. The other 25% of this position is to help the maintenance department with repairs if shorthanded or in the event of a major breakdown.
2.0 EDUCATION/SKILLS NEEDED
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Associate degree in any maintenance associated trade is preferred or 3 years of equivalent experience
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred
- GMP, Hygienic Practices knowledge is preferred
- Basic math skills
- Basic reading & comprehension skills
- Good “people skills” and ability to work as a team
- Good negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Training experience in planning and scheduling preferred
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Knowledge of standard software applications required in – Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
3.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 75%
The main activities include setting hourly/daily priorities with help from Maintenance Supervisor and Operations Management. Ensuring parts and equipment are available and managing day to day activities of Maintenance Technicians.
- Assessing all activity in maintenance which includes work orders, preventative maintenance orders, project troubleshooting/repairing, and establishing a daily schedule for completing these tasks
- Assessing the time needed, parts needed, and processes to ensure maintenance technicians have all needed resources to complete each task
- Managing the hourly/daily activities of each maintenance technician to ensure resources are being used effectively and efficiently and that that priorities are respected as they are established and changed
- Ensure all request are within MicroMain maintenance software. This includes establishing, tracking, and reporting all request within the software and parts as well
- Managing internal customers and external suppliers identifying parts needed, locating parts, getting quotations, placing PO’s, and storage of parts
- Manage the tools needed for the department and ensuring tools are available
- Maintenance KPI’s are reported to the Maintenance Manager
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 25%
- To follow all maintenance procedures
- To maintain the standard of work and work output as set by the supervisor
- To determine equipment issues or shortage of parts, and bring any deficiencies to the attention of the maintenance supervisor or production supervisor.
- Maintain safe work conditions.
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn
- To maintain all standards set by regulatory
- Food Safety:
- To ensure all operations staff is trained on safe food handling requirements to include knowledge of GMPs and HACCP.
- To ensure all staff understands intervals in the process that may present food safety risks and understand what actions should be taken
Technical Components:
Must have experience and background with basic knowledge in all trades including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Millwright/Rigging
- Carpentry
- Basic Welding
- Basic HVAC
