About This Role

We are seeking an exceptional, team-oriented Site Lead to join our growing Field Services team. In this role you will be a critical part of the Apeel organization, working directly with our customers at their packing house facilities to apply the Apeel product to fresh produce. The Site Lead will report directly to the Senior Manager of Operations and act as the point of contact for the assigned sites. You will ensure operations are fast and efficient while creating an environment that puts people and safety first.

This opportunity is based in Vista, California. This position will require weekly and at times daily travel between site locations.

What You'll Do

  • Mediate Weekly meetings including but not limited to site metrics, performance, scheduling, maintenance, and projects (support from other cross functional internal teams)
  • Assist in the initial interviews for new hires to the site, scheduling and training of new team members, and growing the team to envelope an environment of collaboration and support focus on the Apeel core values (Humility, Ingenuity, Leadership, Teamwork)
  • Monitor ERP system to ensure that it is up to date on a daily basis
  • Operate the mixing, application, and drying equipment to apply the Apeel product onto produce
  • Clean and sanitize systems per local regulations to meet Food Safety requirements
  • Delegation of daily task responsibilities to Field Team members to ensure essential duties are completed on time and in accordance with Apeel standards
  • Work closely with Regulatory and Compliance Site Specialist and team to ensure required documentation and compliance is met for site specific requisites
  • Work with Sustaining Engineers and other Field Staff to complete preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment operation is in fully functional condition
  • Initiate and implement modifications in a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Work directly with Senior Operations Manager to manage Apeel product, parts and consumables inventory levels(including performing monthly site inventory, inventory resolution, and cycling out damaged/trial counts)
  • Work directly with the Process Engineering team to collect and analyze product quality data on Apeel-treated produce(performing and monitoring required daily data collection)
  • Work closely with Process Engineers to enhance produce product performance
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, packing house staff, and internal Apeel teams to resolve unexpected challenges
  • Oversee and own demo requests for on site logistics

What You Bring

  • Able to travel between site locations on a weekly or daily basis as needed
  • 2+ years of experience working in produce, production, or manufacturing environment
  • Verbal and written business proficiency in English is required
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills to handle a variety of requests
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple things happening at multiple locations
  • Demonstrated success with leadership in either a direct management or player–coach role
  • The ability to effectively and professionally communicate with our suppliers to assist with their needs
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Ability to work in accordance with regulations, standard operating procedures, and safety standards
  • ERP systems experience: Oracle Production preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite including: Excel, Email, Calendar, etc.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors in cold and/or hot environments and lift up to 50lbs
  • Must have a valid drivers license

Compensation for this role is expected to be between $70,000 and $76,000. Actual base pay may be higher or lower depending on geographic locations, skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
