Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing courteous, reliable, and efficient customer service while monitoring and maintaining cleanliness of parking areas. The Lot Monitor keeps the traffic flow moving within the parking areas and is expected to assist and provide directions to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors the garage to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering unassigned parking areas.
- Keeps parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized.
- Assists customers with locating vehicles or provide customers with instructions for locating vehicles.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Immediately report any accidents to manager on duty.
- Directs traffic, ensures that cars are parked within the marked spaces and that traffic is flowing to avoid traffic delay.
- Uses two-way radio to request assistance and information when necessary.
- May calculate parking charges and collect fees from customers, if applicable.
- Provides valet and stack operations to assist with additional traffic volumes as needed.
- Enters data into Clancy Parking Management System as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to work legally in the United States.
- Able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must pass background and drug screenings.
- May be required to meet immunization or health screening requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for customer service and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work in the elements (heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.).
- Regularly required to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to push and pull (on wheelchair) 100 to 350 pounds, frequently over considerable distance.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
