The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking experienced Climbing Arborists to join our Residential & Commercial Tree Care team in Charlotte, NC. This is an outdoor based, physically demanding, hands-on position. Outdoorsmen and women with prior experience in Forestry, Landscaping or working at height are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES:
Responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees on residential and commercial properties
Assist Foreman in completing all aspects of Tree Pruning, Removal, Cabling & Bracing by working as both second climber and ground crew
Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
Operate Chippers, Trucks, Aerial Lifts, stump grinders or special equipment
Participate in job-site Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
Maintain issued climbing gear, chainsaw, and shared crew equipment as directed by Foreman
Complete Davey Aerial Rescue Training
Make satisfactory progress in Davey Career Development Program

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Valid Driver’s License
Preferred: CDL Class A

Under direct supervision ability to demonstrate proficiency:
Climbing trees with closed or open climbing system
Pruning to ANSI A300 standards
Operating chippers and chainsaws
Bucket truck experience preferred
Equipment maintenance
Safe working procedures
Customer service
Strong tree ID skills, installation experience of cables, bracing and lightening protection are preferred but not required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
Pesticide license, if required by state law
