Job Overview:

  • Pay: $65,000 annualized salary, exempt
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, hybrid
  • Type: Full-time, temporary (based on contract)

As the licensed intake clinician in our clinic you will serve multiple roles: field incoming referral calls, schedule intakes with the clinicians, attend to the clinic walk-ins and perform intakes as clients walk-in and provide appropriate referrals .We are a community mental health clinic with the mission to be accessible to the Lower East Side community.

Program Overview:

Henry Street’s new Health & Wellness program, CONNECT (Continuous Engagement between Community and Clinic Treatment), serves our most vulnerable adult communities with mental health, housing, and employment support in a fluid model that meets clients where they are.

Qualifications:

  • LMSW, LMHC or LCSW required
  • 1-3 years experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments in a treatment setting preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic health records a plus
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities in behavioral health
  • Must be a team player and able to coordinate among multi-disciplinary staff

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary person responsible for providing intakes of individuals who walk-in, utilizing all required forms and assuring quality of care.
  • Maintain current documentation and records of intake services as well as statistical data and reports required by the program and supervisors.
  • Assist staff on client eligibility determinations for third-party payments.
  • Manage all information requests related to outpatient mental health and services by phone as well as face to face walk-in patients, including referrals of clients to other agencies and resources.
  • Participate in department staff meetings, supervision, and other staff meetings as requested.
  • Submit timely monthly reports of services, activities and other reports required by the program director
  • Record pertinent information from referral sources (self- referrals or agency referrals), schedule appointments for service applicants into Intake calendar for clinicians
  • Consult with clinical team about applicants and Intake slot availability
  • Determine if applicants should receive services at the clinic or need to be referred out, assist with linkage
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Physical Job Functions:

  • Ability to walk on sidewalks, up and down stairs, and throughout clinic consistently throughout each day
  • Ability to carry folders, a tablet, a notebook, and cell phone (up to 20 pounds) for several hours per day
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Able to work onsite in the Lower East Side

Education

Required
  • Master of Social Work or better

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred

  • LCSW (Lic Clinical SW)
