Atco Products, a business unit of Fidelis Holdings, LCC located in Ferris, Texas, is an IATF16949/ISO9001 Certified tubing/hose assembly manufacturer of high-quality automotive and heavy-duty truck components and assemblies. Both original equipment suppliers and aftermarket customers have relied on Atco Products to meet their OE production components and in/out of warranty service and parts requirements for more than 50 years.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible in leading site operations that contribute towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing lean manufacturing & continuous improvement techniques.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Lead and assist customers in resolving concerns implementing preventative actions.
  • Collaborate with the migration of legacy ERP into a new system.
  • Plan, lead/assist and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, Kaizen events, and special projects, as needed.
  • Evaluate and analyze current manufacturing processes and metrics performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
  • Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance.
  • Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to sustain improved results.
  • Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by team members.
  • Implement appropriate process validation procedures and documentation to achieve operating efficiency while meeting IATF16949, ISO9001 requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine if the proposed changes are viable.
  • Develop and implement new processes to improve efficiency, quality and reduce costs.
  • Conduct audits of current processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement new processes using automation software, computer-aided design (CAD) programs, or other computer software.
  • Conduct training sessions on new processes to ensure employee understanding and implementation.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations.
  • Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
  • Research and develop new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety and quality standards and legal regulations.
  • Develop and implementing quality standards.
  • Develop and implementing quality control systems.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to develop and implement controls on improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshooting product or manufacturing process issues.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Collect production data, analyzing outputs, and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and experience with quality and process improvement, process design, lean manufacturing, , quality management systems IATF16949 / ISO9001.
  • Manufacturing and quality engineering experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated the ability to make real improvements to existing processes
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Kaizen and other tools, methods for process improvements.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (desired)
  • Strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
