OnsiteThe Electronic Test Technician will support Quality Engineering primarily concerning customer returned electrical components. The technician is instrumental in troubleshooting, and ultimately, identifying the root cause of failures. When called upon, they will participate in root cause corrective action activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the RCFA process of customer returned parts; troubleshooting, and documenting findings.
Enter all findings and documentation into SAP.
Communicate with varying levels of leadership – both spoken and written
Be an active participant in root cause activities; DIVES, 8D’s, 5-Why, etc
Troubleshoot analog and digital circuits. This position requires troubleshooting to the component level.
Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Comply with all rules and regulations, including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, and Human Resources.
Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
3+ years of an electronics background with complimentary work history in a manufacturing environment or service environment.
Knowledge of electronic theory including microprocessor-based products.
Demonstrated proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
The ability to operate shop floor testing equipment to perform ATPs, MTP, ESS, etc.
The ability to give direction and guidance in electronic troubleshooting techniques and repair.
The ability to schedule troubleshooting activities to complement production requirements.
The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail to ensure safety and quality.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
The ability to work in a team to support work capacity in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience or in the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of relevant experience.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
