Laundry Worker Job at Wake Forest Baptist Health
JOB SUMMARY: Provides linen supplies to all departments per instructions. Maintains clean work area. Organizes, distributes, and loads scrubs machines per instruction. Collection and management of soiled linen.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED General Studies preferred .
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in the unloading, separating, and storing of clean linen in distribution and assists in other areas as time permits.
- Responsible for distribution of proper amounts of the linen to the required areas as needed and on a timely basis.
- Communicates all relevant information to the Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintains proper sanitary practices in the handling of linen.
- Maintains harmonious working relationships with co-workers and hospital staff.
- Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules. Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Meets or exceeds patient and employee safety requirements while promoting and achieving quality outcomes.
- Takes ownership for goals and outcomes; effectively and efficiently uses available resources to successfully complete tasks.
- Works with others respectfully and openly; provides help to achieve shared goals.
- Identifies opportunities and takes action to continuously improve processes. Maintains effectiveness and flexibility during change.
- Uses appropriate methods to clearly convey information to others in an engaging way, which helps others understand and retain.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write, and follow directions. Working knowledge of sanitation codes. Ability to push carts up to 80 pounds. Ability to handle multiple priorities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occupational exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
