Janitorial Assistant
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Status: Part-time
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Ensures the bathroom and entrance of the church are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Track supplies of all consumables and advise the office when items need to be replaced
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
- Remain respectful and reverent while on church property and especially while inside the church
- Be flexible with extra hours/cleaning duties as assigned by the Pastor or Office Manager during busy liturgical seasons.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a Cleaner or Janitor
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- Knowledge of English language
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and complete the Protecting God’s Children 3 hour course, required by the Diocese of St. Augustine.
