IT Technician Job at Lakeshore Legal Aid
Organization Overview:
Lakeshore Legal Aid serves low-income people, seniors, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual
assault in a holistic manner to address clients’ legal issues and improve our communities. Lakeshore
provides free direct legal representation in southeast Michigan, client intake, advice, and brief legal
services throughout Michigan via our attorney-staffed hotline. Our practice areas include housing,
family, consumer, elder, education, and public benefits law.
Position Overview:
The IT Technician provides support to employees in multiple geographical locations on a wide variety of
technical issues. Forms of communication will include telephone, e-mail, voicemail, Microsoft Teams
and in-person support. The IT Technician will participate in planning, testing, documentation,
coordination, installation, and maintenance of IT functions.
- Troubleshoot computer hardware, OS, applications, desktop, and peripherals
- Technical question/problem diagnosis and repair/replace
- Maintain a cloud-based database and inventory tracking
- Technology improvement projects
- Managing IT infrastructure, backup/recovery
- Manage data systems, including query building, data reporting and analysis
- Other duties as assigned
- Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or related Technology field or equivalent
- Certifications, experience with administration of Microsoft 365 and Digium phones are a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical activities including lifting equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Able to be self-motivated and work independently in addition to contributing to the team
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Local travel and working outside of regular business hours will be necessary but limited.
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Experience with non-profits is preferred.
Salary
Starting annual salary for an IT Technician is $47,000 and is commensurate with qualifications. Full-time
positions include excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D, short-term
disability, long-term disability, retirement plan, and paid time off (PTO).
