Position Summary: The IT System Specialist is an essential Information Technology (IT) team member. They shall be primarily responsible for providing active support to all Warner University constituent users and endpoints during their day-to-day use of technology. Responsible for troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk phones, user accounts, logins, audio-visual equipment, printers, copiers, and other general systems within the University campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team member in providing excellent customer service and process efficiencies.
  • Tier 1 help desk, end-user, and end-point support (Windows and Mac operating systems), including installation, modification, troubleshooting, updating, and repairing IT hardware and software systems, and password management.
  • Assist with installing workstations, peripherals, and software on computers as determined by the user’s need, job duties, and school policy.
  • Backup and restore users’ work data during migrations to new equipment.
  • Respond to user inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist with training in the use of equipment and software.
  • Provide timely status updates and completion information to manager and user.
  • Assist in creating technical documents for implementations and break-fix solutions.
  • Assist Senior Systems Administrator and Director of Information Technology with projects as needed.
  • Oversee the inventory of all hardware and software.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service orientation; effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills to handle confidential situations and documentation; strong written and oral communication skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail; self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under little supervision; experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Understanding networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
  • Proficiency with computer software and high comfort level working with Windows software applications.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Active Directory, and Windows Server is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years related experience or training.
  • Associate's degree preferred.

Working Relationships: The IT System Specialist is a member of the Information Technology team and reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Work Schedule: Normal office hours are expected Monday through Friday. Additional hours as needed for significant department or university events.
