IT Delivery Manager Job at MMC Corporate
Marsh McLennan, a global leader in professional services, is seeking a Director, IT Project Management for our Guy Carpenter business.

- This critical leadership role is multi-disciplinary in managing the entire Broking and Distribution (B&D) application portfolio and includes portfolio governance, change project oversight and project management, production support and budget management.
- You will be responsible for managing both the entire portfolio of projects and individual projects as needed, ensuring a successful outcome of on-time delivery, within budget and to the highest quality.
- You will also be responsible for overseeing an application support team consisting of employees and consultants and will ensure the prioritization, management and monitoring of technical activities meet client/user needs.
- This is an opportunity to collaborate effectively with other teams on an ongoing basis, including collaborating with the IT Director of Broking and Distribution to manage and oversee the budget and operations, including resource allocation and ongoing capacity planning.

We will count on you to:
- Be the primary point of contact and accountable for the delivery of assigned projects and programs:
- Participate in the initiation phase and launch of new projects and ensure business benefit, high-level scope, budget, timeline, operating and governance model, staffing, key assumptions and success criteria have been agreed and communicated to all stakeholders
- Create and manage realistic and credible project plans
- Negotiate project deliverables, milestones and target dates
- Oversee an existing application support team:
- Communicate effectively with the team, including internal users of the support process, to resolve or escalate conflicts
- Review all technical activities of product support team to ensure procedures and processes are followed
- Recommend and lead complex process improvements to increase efficiency
- Execute relevant implementation, support, and change management processes (i.e. Software Development Lifecycle and Change Management)
- Proactively seek out information from communications with internal users of the support process
- Manage team staffing and collaboration in a matrix organization with globally distributed teams
- Track other B&D in-progress IT projects against scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues
- Learn and conform to all established IT governance and project delivery processes
- Participate in internal and external audits for the B&D Portfolio of projects as required; audit projects periodically on your own as a second set of eyes for the IT Director of Broking and Distribution
- Lead the annual budget process for B&D and facilitate quarterly budget forecast reviews
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years’ experience in delivery of IT, large scale applications implementation projects in a global, matrix environment
- Implementation experience with both off the shelf products and custom developed applications
- Experience in managing teams that consist of both company employees and 3rd parties
- Experience in outsourcing work to outside vendors to achieve deliverables
- Proven track record in delivering program/projects on-time, on-budget and in-scope
- Very strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of secure software development life cycle methodologies and best practices
- Understanding of the Microsoft Office suite including Project, Access, and Visio
- Knowledge of IT Systems (e.g., Infrastructure, Applications and Data)
- Knowledge of project financials (ROI, CapEx and OpEx)

The applicable base salary range for this role is $127,800 to $255,600.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
