Position Overview
The Inventory Specialist will assist in planning and organization of all inventory and non-inventory items. They will pull inventory for warehouse, receiving, storage and distribution of product and provide support to production to ensure product is pulled in a timely manner. Provide support to the Warehouse manager with an emphasis on inventory control. The Inventory Specialist will assist with all aspects of warehousing which includes but not limited to: Maintenance of proper inventory counts, allergen lot control programs, assist with purchasing and assist the warehouse lead as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of proper storage and fumigation of all inventory
- Maintains a clear and concise understanding of all on site inventory
- Manages the storage of inventory to conserve space and comply with company safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse(s).
- Assist and make recommendations for warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of product and transfer to production.
- Plans and coordinates work trains with warehouse management
- Continuously re-evaluates storage, department lay-out and equipment for efficiency improvements.
- Operates forklift
- Perform product cycle counts including lot number for multiple warehouses
- Stage materials within designated areas
- Other duties may include:
o Working on special projects as assigned by Purchasing Manager
