Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy, conducting audits, analyzing data, and implementing processes to optimize inventory control. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels using inventory management software/systems
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies or shortages and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, warehouse, and sales, to optimize inventory control processes
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
- Monitor and track product expiration dates and ensure proper rotation of inventory
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of inventory management software/systems
- Train and educate warehouse staff on proper inventory control procedures and practices
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in inventory control practices
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is a plus
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using inventory management software/systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid understanding of inventory control principles and best practices
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to inventory management
