Internal Communications Executive Job at Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC
Creates, manages and implements internal communications strategies, programs and activities for Hikma’s 2,000-plus employees and its locations in Cherry Hill, Dayton and Berkeley Heights NJ, Columbus and Bedford OH, Carlsbad, CA and Ontario, Canada. Also works closely with the Director, Corporate Communications to develop and implement select social media and media relations external communications initiatives to promote Hikma’s businesses, achievements and positive impact on the US healthcare system and its patients.
The successful candidate will serve as a key member of Hikma’s US and global communications teams and will work closely with members of the US and global Corporate Affairs team, including Human Resource leaders and senior business/site management and corporate affairs colleagues in London and Amman, Jordan, to ensure continuous delivery of strategic communications and messaging required for achievement of the company’s business and employee engagement goals. Creates, drafts, implements and maintains Hikma’s US employee communications-related messages, materials, online channels and events.
Uses position, professional gravitas and communications experience/expertise to recommend, create, influence and achieve desired communications activities and outcomes.
Adheres to and promotes Hikma’s values by performing responsibilities in a manner consistent with operational excellence, being a team member and supporting the continued growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop effective written, verbal and electronic/audio/visual US employee communications that clearly and simply convey Hikma’s mission, actions, values, culture, brand and strategy to support achievement of key business priorities.
- Build strong partnerships with US business/site leaders and internal stakeholders to engage employees, who include a significant operations/manufacturing workforce.
- Consult with and support internal functions (HR, DEI, Employee Resource Groups, IT, Legal, Finance, etc.) with communications plans needed to achieve goals, and, provide sound advice/effective actions to ensure accurate information is delivered in a consistent, timely and effective manner. Support department processes, including North America/Global coordination and message distribution.
- Plan, produce, edit and/or write content for a variety of mediums, including production of quarterly US newsletters, ongoing email announcements, presentations, digital signs, talking points, social media and videos.
- Manage US employee Intranet in coordination with London-based employee communications colleagues.
- Collaborate with communications colleagues around the globe to ensure consistency of messages and editorial support for communication channels.
- Proofread and edit messages, ensuring achievement of high editorial standards and alignment with Hikma’s mission, vision and brand.
- Develop and manage comprehensive communication plans and calendars with a strong eye for detail.
- Ensure factual accuracy, clarity and consistency of messages, materials and communications channels.
- Coordinate the “review and approval” processes for a range of North America and site-specific communications.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate the successful and timely completion of projects.
- Oversees employee communications budgets and timely payment of vendors.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of corporate communications experience is required, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. A college degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications or a related field is ideal with a specialization in employee communications.
- Must possess excellent professional writing, editing and proofreading skills, a strong detail orientation and the ability to synthesize complex topics into simple messages. Must be familiar with and adhere to AP and/or related writing/editing styles.
- Experience in creating and using video and other visual communications to inform, engage and motivate employees; and in creating and managing employee communities.
- Experience in influencing employee engagement and shaping internal culture via a range of online communications vehicles and channels.
- Ability to think analytically and strategically and write creatively. Previous experience in change management and supporting Human Resources is helpful.
- Must be comfortable working under pressure and experienced in delivering results in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task to balance multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
