Interior Design Assistant Position:

AECO Design is currently renovating, designing or constructing over 40 mostly residential projects primarily based in Beverly Hills but extending to Brentwood, Bel Air, the Palisades and other surrounding areas. We are looking for someone available 32-35 hours per week Monday-Friday, who can assist us in all designer assisting roles as needed.

We're looking for an Interior Design Assistant, ideally someone with previous experience working in both an office and around high-end clients. This is a great position with the opportunity to evolve and can assist in the roles of:

  • Collecting fabrics/materials from the Fabric District.
  • Traveling to the manufacturing district south of Downtown to meet with our trade vendors and oversee production of custom furniture and other items (mirrors, metals, etc.) in production.
  • Company organization, from client coordination to office management including scheduling meetings, ordering any design-related items, and keeping the office tidy & organized
  • Drafting plans, layouts and elevations
  • Assisting in ordering and invoicing project
  • Assist in creating mood boards / other presentations
  • Monitor projects to-do lists, budgets, and deadlines
  • Source unique and amazing furnishings, fabric, etc.
  • Excel / Word / PowerPoint
  • AutoCAD (minimum a year), SketchUp is a plus+
  • Knowledge and love of high-end interior design

Who should excel and/or be willing to learn:

  • Displaying quality & timely customer service with long-term clients
  • Communication with various parties including clients, trades people, companies we work with, and your new co-workers!
  • Organization, organization, organization.
  • Interests in anything pertaining to the design or trade industries that are associated with home building/renovating/designing would be ideal
  • Embraces a team environment and practices collaboration of creative ideas
  • Thinking outside of the box - essential for this position

The office is located in Toluca Lake - we will need you to be available to drive with a reliable vehicle to the office, downtown LA, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and other locations around LA.

You will be reimbursed for mileage obtained between driving to and from required places once your day begins, but not to and from the office.

*Days will always be different - some days you'll only be at the office, only downtown, or only running between clients or a combination. Typically the hours are about 32-35 hours a week.
