Interim Transfer Admissions Counselor Job at Northeastern Illinois University
Northeastern Illinois University, located in Chicago, Illinois, invites applications for the position of Interim Transfer Admission Counselor, in the Enrollment Services Department
In this role you willReports directly to the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions, with a dotted-line to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The Interim Transfer Enrollment Counselor performs strategic functions, develops and implements transfer recruitment programming and provides pre-enrollment advising services to support transfer enrollment goals at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU).
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of higher education experience, assisting college-aged students
- Knowledgeable about students' transfer options and the transfer process
- Experience working with students in both one-on-one and groups
- Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Skilled in all Microsoft products
- Persuasive communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills. Able to solve problems. Able to deescalate frustration. Willing to go out of the way to help someone. Able to leave a very positive impression
- Proficient in student information systems
- Spending time off campus on community college campuses, interacting withstudents and transfer advisors in the assigned territory.
- Initiating phone calls, emails, and text messages to prospectivetransfer students within the assigned territory, with a goal of assisting good-fitstudents to enroll at NEIU.
- Responding to incoming calls, emails, text messages.
- Having contact with feeder community colleges to help students transfer.
- Meeting in the office with students who visit NEIU.
- Planning and executing communication plans with the Associate Director.
- Hosting events for transfer students on campus.
- Contributing to the admissions/marketing partnership to update printedand web collateral.
- Other office responsibilities as needed (answering phones, assisting withmail campaigns, contributing to team meetings and projects.)
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary & BenefitsSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision benefits, sick and vacation days, and participation in the State Universities Retirement System. This is a full-time, continuing position.
HoursMonday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (able to work on occasional evenings or weekends as needed.)
